Homeworks, Son!

Blues:

Your homework tonight is two-fold:

READ: Section 6 (p. 74-86) of House on Mango Street. The reading is available as a PDF through Dropbox. Go to “FA ELA Files – Blue Class,” then to “House On Mango Street,” then to “Readings,” and finally select “Mango Sec 6 Reading, Trees, English, Rafaela, Sally, Minerva, Bums”. If you open the file in PDF Notes-Free, you’ll be able to annotate while you read so that you can keep track of your questions and comments.

RESPOND: Describe a situation where you once felt really out of place or uncomfortable. Why did you feel this way? What does the word "outcast" mean? What kinds of attributes make people into outcasts? Why must society have outcasts?  What do the vignettes you’ve read have to do with being an outcast?

We’ll talk it out tomorrow, sirs. If you have any questions, find the answers. If you run out of options, email me.

Word hard: luck means nothing.

See you tomorrow.
