Weekend Update: Grades and Finals

Blues:

Hi guys. Just wanted to give you all a quick update about grades and finals, two things that are probably on your minds right about now.

First of all, grades. Admittedly, this has been a tough semester in terms of getting grades/feedback to you in a timely manner. The eye surgeries played a huge part in that, but I should have done better. That being said, the assignments have been available to you in Power School for some time, so hopefully you've been able to at least make sure that the assignments that needed to be passed in were passed in. By Monday, everything except for the synthesis essays will be there. Anything that was scored a "0" was not in Dropbox the last time I checked; you have until Friday to submit late work, and you would be wise to take advantage of that. I'll spend this week grading synthesis essays, finals, and the final assessment assignment for Othello, which you will be getting tomorrow.

As for finals, you can't study for it in a traditional sense because it is not a traditional exam. You will be given 3 readings and questions based on those readings, much like an MCAS exam. This was done to test the skills you should've learned throughout the semester, rather than testing your ability to memorize facts and lit. termrs. In short, this means that you'll be able to find the answers in the readings, providing your able to read closely--as you've been trained to do all semester.

Hope this helps and that you're having a restful long weekend. Be sure to check Power School to see if you're missing any assignments and get cracking.

Work hard: luck means nothing.
