Thursday, Already

Blues:

Tonight's homework is two-fold, sirs:

1.) Finish up the work we began in class by completing your stage map for when either Othello or Desdemona defends his/her love of the other to the Duke in Act 1.3 of Othello. Then, tell me why you have blocked the scene in this way, what emotions you are hoping to make your audience feel, and what prop or set pieces you think you would need to stage this moment.

Email a screen shot of your artwork and the answers to those questions before class tomorrow.

2.) Read up to page 28 of Night by  Monday. To help you in your reading of this text, I have uploaded a file called "Background Info and Vocab" about terms and subjects related to World War II and the Holocaust that Weisel, the author of Night, assumes you're familiar with; please refer to it as much as you can. For your convenience, it can be found in Dropbox in the new "Night" shared folder of our "FA ELA Files".

That's all for now. Tomorrow we will refocus on the synthesis essay, so please make sure all of your sources have been read and annotated.

Work hard: luck means nothing.
