Working for the Weekend

Blues:

Over the weekend, I want you to complete your Othello Act. 1.2 Blocking/Objectives Assignment

Here is a recap of the instructions:
Part 1: Draw what you imagine to be the ideal stage set for Act 1.2 of Othello

Part 2: Describe how you believe the characters should be interacting/engaging with each other on stage. In the movie version of Othello that we saw in class yesterday, the actors playing Iago and Roderigo communicated the “status” within their relationship by having Iago physically push Roderigo forward to talk to Brabantio “alone,” and then proceeded to speak for Roderigo when he began bumbling the plan.

Think about what you believe Iago and Othello’s relationship is like. How would you have the actors communicate that with their actions, voices, facial expressions, interactions with one another? What about Iago and Cassio? Othello and Cassio? Othello and Brabantio? There are a lot of little decisions that you can make to express bigger picture ideas…

Submit Part 1 however you can, but submit Part 2 using a CloudOn word document.

Also, read, annotate, and evaluate "Source E" for the Synthesis Essay project.

On Monday, we will continue our discussions on both.

Work hard: luck means nothing.
